How To Explore Utah On A Budget

One of the top places in the country for motorhome rental travel is the majestic and fully unique state of Utah. You just won’t find such a diverse and epic mix of terrains to enjoy in any other close region. Utah brings you vast deserts, incredible mountain ranges and rock formations, forests, and a plethora of exciting towns and cities to explore. Even for those on a tight budget, there are plenty of ways to enjoy all that Utah has to offer without going broke in the process. From free parks to inexpensive activities to inexpensive town and city visits, there is plenty to do and see in Utah that will not break your budget.

The National Parks

Utah is home to several of the most famous and breathtaking national parks, all within a close driving distance of one another. First you have Zion National Park which features long stretches of the state’s most breathtaking scenery. Here you have outstanding waterfalls, red rock cliffs, and vast panoramas like something from another world. This is truly a hiker’s paradise, with many trails showcasing terrain that you just won’t find anywhere else in the nation. Another must-see is Arches National Park, where you can witness gravity defying stone arches and other massive rock formations, not to mention Devil’s Canyon and a number of singular sites within this vast and unique wilderness.  Other famous national parks include Bryce Canyon where fantastic stone pillars rise from the earth’s surface, and Capitol Reef with its cliffs and rock spires overlooking unbelievable hiking trails. Many of these parks have free entry, so you can enjoy their spoils without having to fork over a single cent.

Moab

If it’s hardcore outdoor adventure you’re after, then make sure to hit up the town of Moab. This will put you within close reach of Canyonlands, Arches, and even Dead Horse Point State Park. When staying in Moab, you will be within just a short drive of the best hiking, biking, rafting, and off-roading to be found in the state. The scenery surrounding Moab is some of the most unique and breathtaking terrain to be found in the state, featuring panoramic mountain views and petrified dunes stretching for miles in all directions. There are no entry fees for the region’s many outdoor attractions, which your wallet will certainly appreciate.

Salt Lake City

Salt Lake City itself is highly worth a visit on your Utah motorhome rental journey. There are numerous attractions here that make it a great stop along your Utah route. One must-see is the Mormon Temple, which is an impressive structure built in the 19th century. Although only Mormons can enter the temple, standing on Temple Square and gazing upon this historic structure is highly recommended. This will not cost you anything, so you can experience this unique institution with no worries about your budget.

Park City

For anyone on a budget journey across Utah, it would be highly advised to make a stop in Park City. This former silver mining down has been transformed into one of the hippest spots in the state and is host to the annual Sundance Film Festival. Due to the influx of visitors, the dining, shopping, and nightlife here are stellar. Plus, there are a number of outdoor activities year round that allow you to experience some thrills as well as to witness the gorgeous and diverse surrounding countryside. There is so much to do and see here that you may want to schedule in a number of days just so you can get it all in. Park City isn’t all swanky restaurants either. You can do an amazing amount of things here for not much money, including budget eateries and even some cheap ski passes if you do your research.

Monument Valley

At The Monument you will find red rock buttes rising up from the blazing orange desert.  Red mesas and stone pinnacles make for some of the most unique sites to be found anywhere in the world, which must be the reason why so many movies, television shows, and commercials have been shot here. Unless you take a guided tour, it isn’t going to cost you anything to enjoy Monument Valley.

Utah is one of the best states for budget motorhome rental travel due to its vast open spaces and lack of park entry fees. There are many free places to camp as well so you should certainly do your research to locate them and take advantage of them along the way. Just because you’re on a budget, this doesn’t mean you will be missing out on the astounding outdoor activities such as hiking and biking amongst some of the most gorgeous and unique scenery you have ever witnessed. If you don’t have Utah on your bucket list, then think again.
